Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy describes the information Quranzi handles today. You can read and listen without an account; signing in enables features that store data on our servers.
This document is a template generated from how Quranzi currently works. It has not been reviewed or approved by a lawyer, and items marked “Owner to configure” must be completed by the Quranzi owner before production launch.
1. Information We Collect
Without an account, Quranzi stores preferences and offline content on your device. With an account, we also store the account and activity data described below on our servers.
2. Account Information
Your email address, an optional display name and profile picture. If you sign in with Google, the name and picture provided by Google may be used to fill your profile.
3. Authentication
Sign-in is provided by Supabase, using email and password or Google sign-in. Session cookies keep you signed in; see the Cookie Policy.
4. Quran Reading Activity
Your last-read position and reading activity events used for progress, streaks and Insights.
5. Listening Activity
Your listening progress, a bounded Recently Played history, and listening events (such as listening segments and completions) used for Insights.
6. Bookmarks
Ayahs and Surahs you bookmark.
7. Favourite Reciters
Reciters you mark as favourites.
8. Playlists
Items you add to your playlists.
9. Goals, Streaks, Khatm and Insights
Goals you set and reading/listening totals, streaks, Khatm progress and aggregate figures calculated from your activity.
10. Notification Preferences
Your notification settings, in-app notifications and records of delivery attempts.
11. Web Push Subscriptions
If you enable push notifications, your browser’s push endpoint and encryption keys are stored so reminders can be delivered through your browser vendor’s push service.
12. Premium and Subscription Information
Your subscription status, plan and related identifiers, and subscription events received from RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card details.
13. Offline Audio Data
Offline Surahs and audio are saved in your browser’s storage on your device and are not uploaded to us.
14. Device and Browser Information
Standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) is processed by our hosting and service providers to deliver and secure the service.
15. Cookies and Local Storage
See the Cookie Policy. We use authentication cookies, a translation-language cookie, and browser storage for theme, settings and offline use.
16. Analytics
Quranzi does not include third-party advertising or analytics scripts. The first-party listening and reading events described above are stored with your account to power your own Insights and, in aggregate, product reporting.
17. Supabase
Supabase provides authentication, our database and file storage, and processes account and activity data on our behalf.
18. Payment and Subscription Providers
Subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat and its payment providers, who handle payment details under their own policies.
19. RevenueCat
RevenueCat is used for web purchases and subscription status. Paddle is not used by Quranzi.
20. Quran Foundation API and Quran Data Providers
Quran text and related data are requested from Quran Foundation and other Quran data providers, and some recitation audio is served from third-party audio hosts such as Islamic Network. When your browser loads audio from a host, that host can see standard request information such as your IP address.
21. CMS, CDN and Storage Providers
Published editorial content and assets may be served from our Supabase storage or a configured content delivery network. These do not require you to share personal information.
22. Feedback and Support Messages
When you send feedback from the Feedback page, we store your category, optional subject, message and, if you choose to give it, your email. If you are signed in, the submission is linked to your account and display name so we can follow up. You can send feedback without an account. Messages are visible to the Quranzi team only. If you email us, we use your message and address only to respond.
23. How Information Is Used
To provide and sync features, resume reading and listening, show Insights, send notifications you enable, manage Premium, keep the service secure, and fix problems.
24. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed above to run Quranzi, when required by law, or with your direction.
25. Data Retention
Account data is kept while your account exists and is deleted when you delete your account (see Account Deletion). Recently Played is a bounded list that is overwritten as you listen. You can remove many items yourself (for example bookmarks and playlist items). Feedback you send is kept for support and product records. Other retention periods: [Owner to configure: retention periods for analytics events, logs and backups].
26. Data Security
Account data is protected by authenticated access controls, and server-only credentials are never sent to your browser. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
27. User Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your data. You can delete your account yourself in the app (see Account Deletion below), and you can make any other request by emailing quranziofficial@gmail.com.
28. Account Deletion
You can permanently delete your account yourself in the app: go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm and, if you signed in some time ago, to sign in again first. Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
Deleting your account removes your Quranzi account and the personal data linked to it: your profile, bookmarks, favourite reciters, playlists, reading and listening progress and history, goals, streaks, Khatm progress and insights, notification preferences and in-app notifications, Web Push subscriptions, and the Premium entitlement record held for your account. After deletion you will not receive Quranzi notifications, and account-specific data stored in the browser you used is cleared.
Some information is handled differently:
- Feedback you sent is kept as a support record with your account link, name and email removed. The text of the message is kept, so please avoid putting personal details in feedback.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription held with RevenueCat or its payment providers. Cancel it with your payment provider. Those providers may keep transaction records that they are required to keep under their own policies, and we cannot delete those for you.
- Request logs held by our hosting and service providers are kept under those providers’ own policies.
- Offline Surahs and audio saved on other devices you used stay on those devices until you clear that site’s data.
If you cannot use the in-app option, email quranziofficial@gmail.com and we will help.
29. Children’s Privacy
Quranzi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data.
30. International Users
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, appropriate safeguards are the responsibility of the Quranzi owner: [Owner to configure: international transfer basis, if required].
31. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version.
